HEALthy Brain and Child Development Study Kickoff Meeting

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) hosted the kickoff meeting for the HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HEALthy BCD) Study, which launched the planning phase of the study. Planning phase investigators gathered to discuss the study’s expectations and goals, as well as delineating next steps.
Incidence of neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) increased by approximately 433 percent between 2004 and 2014. To address this important issue, the NIH HEAL Initiative supports research to generate knowledge and address the needs of infants and children affected by opioid exposure.
