Nora Volkow, Ph.D., director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) was a guest at Wisconsin Public Radio’s The Morning Show, on June 29, to discuss the ways the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting efforts to address the ongoing opioid crisis. Volkow took listeners’ calls and spoke to the issues of increased number of overdoses, as well as relapses. She also shared progress in telemedicine research to broaden access to medications for people with opioid use disorder.
