HEAL Prevention Initiative (HPI) Year 3 Meeting

Overview
This 4.5-hour virtual event will bring together representatives from NIDA, including Dr. Nora Volkow and Dr. Carlos Blanco, Captain Jeffrey Coady (SAMHSA’s Acting Director of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention), the HPC research sites, the HEAL Prevention Initiative Grantees, the HPC Community Stakeholder Board, the HEAL Prevention Coordinating Center and other prevention stakeholders. The presentations will focus on priorities in the advancement of prevention strategies to address opioid misuse and opioid use disorder and provide HEAL Prevention Initiative research project updates. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions through the virtual platform.

This video includes the first session of the virtual annual HEAL Prevention Initiative (HPI) Meeting held November 10th, 2021. The meeting started with a discussion between Dr. Carlos Blanco (Director of the Division of Epidemiology, Services, and Prevention Research at NIDA), Dr. Amy Goldstein (Chief of the Prevention Services Branch at NIDA), and Captain Jeffrey Coady (Acting Director of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention at SAMHSA) about translating opioid prevention research into practice and policy.
