Helping to End Addiction Long-term (HEAL): The NCI Perspective

Mon, 5/23/2022 - 11:00am - 12:00pm

Overview

Opioids are commonly used to manage cancer-associated pain, thus there is room in the NIH Helping to End Addiction Long-term® (HEAL) Initiative, or NIH HEAL Initiative®, for research into new ways to manage cancer- or cancer treatment-associated pain. During this webinar, HEAL and National Cancer Institute (NCI) staff will provide an overview of the initiative and discuss opportunities for cancer pain researchers to participate. We will cover funding opportunities for clinical, preclinical, and translational research in pain management and efforts to address health disparities in pain management. We will also discuss training opportunities available through the NIH HEAL Initiative and address questions at the end of the webinar. We encourage any cancer pain researchers to attend and learn about the opportunities available through the initiative.
