Overview
Please join Dr. Alex Tuttle, a program director at the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), for this informational session on the recently announced NIH HEAL R15 funding opportunity. This event is being circulated via the RAND REACH Center, the HEAL PURPOSE Network and the NCCIH Office of Communications with the intention of bringing together investigators from R15 eligible institutions and potential collaborators from pain research centers across the country. In addition to hearing from Dr. Tuttle on this funding opportunity, the RAND REACH Center is excited to offer PURPOSE attendees an opportunity to meet representatives from several R15-eligible RAND REACH complementary and integrative health (CIH) institutions.

Alex Tuttle, Ph.D., is a program director in the Basic and Mechanistic Research Branch at NCCIH where he oversees the manual therapy and force-based manipulation portfolios, as well as NCCIH’s pain preclinical and translational research portfolios. Dr. Tuttle currently leads several NIH-wide programs, including the HEAL Initiative®’s Myofascial Pain Biomarkers program and Pain Research Enhancement Program, as well as the joint NCCIH/National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) Force-Based Manipulation Research Networks program.
The Rand Research Across Complementary and Integrative Health Institutions (REACH) Center
The RAND REACH Center is a collaboration between RAND and member institutions that train complementary and integrative health (CIH) practitioners. Its purpose is to leverage the research infrastructure at RAND to support collaborative research across and within these institutions. The Mission of the RAND REACH Center is to provide support to CIH institutions and professions to conduct collaborative research in support of collectively beneficial health policy.
